Major responsibility is delivery driver for Child Nutrition and Custodial Services. The position is as needed up to 15 hours per week.
NATURE OF WORK
An employee in this class performs a variety of manual activities cleaning and maintaining buildings. This employee will work on multiple sites and within several departments. The employee exercises considerable judgment in most activities. An employee in this class will solve most problems, including those referred by other workers, although complex problems will be referred to the maintenance department. Errors will be revealed by inspection of work. Limited supervision is given to check completion of tasks in accordance with instructions and standards of cleanliness.
ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLES OF WORK
Deliveries to school cafeterias and related recordkeeping
Cleans and makes minor repairs and adjustments to equipment
Moves equipment and delivers supplies as directed.
Makes minor repairs to furniture or facilities.
Reports to supervisor damages or needed repairs requiring outside attention.
Washes windows, woodwork, walls and other surfaces.
Cleans and polishes floors.
Replaces light bulbs and fluorescent tubes.
Empties wastebaskets and other trash receptacles.
Sorts and stores material for recycling programs.
Locks and unlocks doors.
Maintains adequate supplies and materials on site.
Maintains inventory of warehouse
Accepts deliveries
Partner with maintenance staff
Assist school level custodial team
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Valid NC Driver’s license
Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials and equipment.
Skill in the use of small equipment used in routine cleaning.
Ability to work with other people.
Ability to lift 70 lbs. repetitively
Self-motivated
Ability to understand and follow simple oral or written directions.
Ability to keep simple records.
Competent in using technology such as Excel and Google Docs
