General Statement of Position:

Under EC Director supervision, performs a variety of evaluative, supportive, and supervisory tasks system-wide in assisting the teachers of students with disabilities.  Specialist may perform a wide range of tasks to support the supervision of EC teachers and ensure the compliance of the regulations of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).  Specialist provides individual assistance to teachers with training and EC paperwork compliance and may lead group and individual professional development activities as directed. Specialist provides support and monitoring for schools with behavior strategies and in implementing PBIS.  Specialist assists EC teachers and principals, as designated by EC Director.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education

Master’s Degree (preferred)

Minimum of five years classroom teaching experience

Salary:

Teacher Salary, 10+ month employment
