Performance Responsibilities

Instruction & Curriculum Implementation:
-
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging music lessons aligned with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study for Visual and Performing Arts.

Introduce foundational music concepts, including rhythm, melody, pitch, movement, notation, and music appreciation across diverse genres and cultures.

Integrate instructional technology and interactive tools to enhance learning outcomes.

Classroom & Performance Management:
-
Establish and maintain a structured, safe, and encouraging classroom environment conducive to active artistic learning.

Organize, rehearse, and direct school-wide music programs, choir ensembles, and seasonal student performances throughout the academic year.

Oversee the proper use, inventory, and maintenance of musical instruments, sound equipment, and classroom materials.

Assessment & Student Support:

Assess student progress using formative and summative evaluation methods to guide instruction.
-
Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate varying learning styles, abilities, and multicultural perspectives.

Professional Collaboration & Communication:
-
Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, colleagues, and administration regarding student growth and event schedules.

Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, PLC (Professional Learning Community) sessions, and school committee activities.

Attend required school events and programs outside regular instructional hours.
